JSC “Svyatogor” (UMMC’s metallurgical complex) has installed apron feeder (produced by Swedish company “Metso Minerals”) in the crushing section of concentrator. New equipment is a part of processing chain where crude ore is transported from ore stockpile to mean and fine crushing sections. The aggregate replaced the vibrating feeder that was used for four years already.

There was a problem of crude ore freezing on the vibrating feeder during winter time and sticking during wet weather, - tells the head of JSC “Svyatogor”’s concentrator Igor Sabitov. – As a result, the weight of equipment was increasing, and oscillating amplitude that is essential for proper ore transportation, was decreasing. The unit had too many faults. This caused a change of feeder.

New equipment has number of advantages over its predecessor.  Plates that are joint into united system - are the main operating links of feeder – form overlaps one over the other, which means the transported material is not spilled on the road of final delivery. Moreover, plates are produced from manganese steel that is able to maintain shock loads and abrasion effect. Concentrator’s management points out on the simplicity of operating the feed apron.

All the works were carried out under control of manufacturer’s representative. After a check of all systems and key parts functionality as well as setting up of a unit, the launch of new equipment took place. The expenses of JSC “Svyatogor” for acquisition of apron feeder totaled around 15 mln.rub.

Coal company “Kuzbassrazresugol” increased volumes of coal mining.
